Enrollment & Admissions

Yatichawi welcomes children from 3 months to 5 years old across our infant, toddler, and preschool programs.
Yes. We offer both full-time and select part-time schedules depending on age group and availability.
Families may complete our inquiry form or contact us directly to schedule a personalized tour of our classrooms and program.
Some age groups may have limited availability throughout the year. We recommend scheduling a tour early to learn about current openings and waitlist options.
Schedule changes may be accommodated based on classroom availability and enrollment needs.

Spanish Immersion Philosophy

Not at all. Most children begin with little or no Spanish exposure. Our immersive environment helps children naturally develop comprehension and confidence over time.
Yes. Children continue developing English naturally while becoming immersed in Spanish through daily interaction, music, storytelling, play, and routines.
Spanish is woven throughout the day through meaningful experiences, songs, conversation, movement, cooking activities, storytelling, classroom routines, and emotional connection rather than memorization.

Daily Life at Yatichawi

Children participate in a balanced daily rhythm that includes Spanish immersion, circle time, sensory exploration, outdoor play, gardening, music and movement, art, meals, rest time, and hands-on learning experiences.
Yes. Outdoor play and fresh air are an important part of our daily routine whenever weather permits.
Our classrooms include activities such as yoga, gardening, cooking experiences, music, dance, sensory exploration, fine motor development, storytelling, creative arts, and cultural learning experiences.

Infant & Toddler Care

We understand transitions can feel emotional for both children and parents. Our team works closely with families to provide a gradual, nurturing, and individualized transition process.
Children have a calm daily rest period in a nurturing classroom environment. Nap routines are individualized whenever possible based on each child’s developmental needs.
No. We support each child’s potty training journey with patience, consistency, encouragement, and close communication with families.

Meals and Nutrition

Yes. Yatichawi provides organic, freshly prepared meals and snacks daily for children enrolled in our full-day programs.
Meals are thoughtfully prepared with fresh ingredients and inspired by healthy home-style cooking that supports children’s growth, comfort, and development.
We work closely with families whenever possible to support children with allergies or special dietary considerations.

Communication & Parent Partnership

Families receive daily communication, photos, videos, and updates through the Brightwheel app.
We believe strong parent partnerships are essential. Families are able to communicate directly with the program through Brightwheel, email, and scheduled meetings when needed.
Yes. We value ongoing communication with families and offer meetings and conferences whenever support or developmental discussions are needed.

Safety & Teacher Qualifications

Yes. All staff members are fingerprinted, background checked, CPR certified, and meet California licensing requirements.
Our educators bring a combination of early childhood education, bilingual instruction, Spanish immersion experience, child development training, and nurturing classroom leadership.
We maintain continuity and classroom consistency by utilizing trained support staff and substitutes familiar with our program philosophy and classroom routines.

Behavioral Guidance & Emotional Development

Our approach focuses on emotional development, respectful communication, redirection, empathy, problem-solving, and helping children build confidence, kindness, and self-regulation in a calm and nurturing environment.
